It gives me immense pleasure to present the official Website of district Anantnag. With the launch of the website, the district has become a part of cyber world. The website has been launched with many objectives in mind. The main objective is to reach more and more people using the information technology. The launch of the website will help in bringing transparency in public administration and a right step towards e-governance. The website  also provides an interface between public and district administration. Public can lodge their complaints/grievances  and suggestions  directly with the district administration using the facility provided in  the website.

          The site will also serve as a reference guide and bring the administration closer  to people. The website is enriched with contents covering various aspects of the district information like population, area, who’s who, telephone directory, culture, history, tourist places, shrines, economic indicators, district plan, block information, developmental activities and achievements, elections, Information technology etc. Besides a section of the site contains valuable information about the Amarnath Ji Yatra. Besides there are links to some useful and popular sites.
         
         The site will be updated from time to time and suggestions from the users for improving its contents would be appreciated. Also I would like to place on record my appreciation for the DIO, NIC Anantnag and the  staff  employed with NIC for their efforts in designing and developing this website.
